Facilities include a large outdoor arena, indoor arena and twenty stables. None of these can equate to the magnificence that is the natural green forest environment that is on our door step not to mention the historic features that litter the landscape.

The Irish Hunter, Irish Draught and Connemara Pony are proudly featured in our stable. Many of our horses have been bred on our farm
Ashford Equestrian Centre was founded by Tim and Brigid Clesham in the late 1980's. They have been breeding Connemara Ponies and Irish Draughts since the 1970's on their farm close to Cong. They established what is now the current location of Ashford Equestrian Centre in 1992 and their son and daughter Thomas and Mary continue in the family business today.

Mary Clesham riding home bred Registered Irish Draught mare, Caherduff Bramble. As well as being a riding instructor Mary has a degree in archaeology and worked on ancient burials and other historic sites in the area. Her mother Brigid is a historian and archivist. We like to convey a feel for this local historical knowledge on our trail rides.
Tom Clesham is a Riding Instructor with considerable experience in the hunting field, jumping cross country and is well versed in instilling confidence in young riders . Tom takes care of much of the 'breaking in' and training of our home breds. Tom is also a keen farmer.
Careful study of this photo will show that it is no myth that the Irish Hunter has a fifth leg.
